Flamme…what???

Flammekueche! (pronounced, Flamm – Kuche)

Starting with a rectangular dough so thin it cooks in 90 seconds. Spread with seasoned crème fraîche and topped with a mouth-watering combination of high quality ingredients.

This simple and scrummy dish is perfect for today’s lifestyle and those looking for a fast, light and flavorsome bite to eat. Based in the Grafton Centre in Cambridge – just opposite the VUE cinema, it’s ideal as a takeaway, a quick meal before the cinema, a break from shopping, a lunch time outing or a night out with friends and family.

Gluten Free bases are available! And if you’re are vegan, simple ask for the tomato spread

Sharing is caring! Pick a few for the table and split them between yourselves so you can enjoy different flavours!

THE HISTORY

Legend says that it was the 14th century bakers in the Alsace region of France who created Flammekueche as a means of testing an oven’s temperature for their bread with a thinly stretched piece of dough; if the temperature was right the dough would bake in just a minute leaving the edges crisp and slightly charred.  Today it is the region’s specialty dish topped with bacon and onions.

Despite having very similar characteristics to pizza, Flammekueche has its own unique personality! Our dough is millimetres thin and contains no yeast, guaranteeing a crisp bite & removing that bloated feel. Due to the thinness, we are able to cook it at a very fast speed.
