Cambridge’s Amelie brings its much-loved ‘modern food’ to Ely by the Velvet Magazine
Family Affair
Regis and Alex Crepy, the father-and-son team behind Amelie in Cambridge, are expanding their restaurant and cafe business to Ben's Yard. Taking over both the main restaurant and the cafe and bake shop at the rural retail village in Stuntney, set just outside Ely. Alex says: 'We're looking forward to extending a warm welcome to everyone and sharing our modern food, as well as introducing our signature flam-kuche.' A crispy yeast-free flatbread, spread with creme fraiche and a tasty combination of either savoury or sweet toppings. Amelie has made its name with flam-kuch at both its Cambridge sites, The Grafton and the Cambridge Cookery.
At Ben's Yard, Regis, who formerly ran both Lavenham's The Great House and Maison Bleue in Bury St Edmunds, will collaborate with head chef Rory Landells on 'an attractive good-value of freshly Mediterranean-inspired dishes using seasonal and locally sourced produce'.
